About ABA and our clinic
4 questionsWhat is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most extensively researched and evidence-based intervention for Autism Spectrum Disorder. At Licini Inc., every treatment plan is built around the individual child, uses data collected at every session, and is designed or supervised by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Link to this answerWhy is Licini Inc. clinic-based instead of home-based?
A clinic gives your child access to a structured, distraction-managed learning environment and to peers. Peer access helps children practice social skills in real time so they carry over to school, home and the community.

5 questionsDoes Licini Inc. diagnose autism?
No. Licini Inc. does not diagnose autism and does not provide diagnostic testing. If your child has not been diagnosed, talk with your pediatrician about an evaluation from a qualified provider such as a developmental pediatrician, psychologist or neurologist.
Link to this answerWhat ages and diagnoses do you serve?

We are not accepting new clients at this time. Questions are always welcome: call 904-637-1400 or use our contact page.
Link to this answerHow do I get started with ABA therapy at Licini Inc.?
Getting started has four steps. First, ask your pediatrician for a referral or contact us directly. Second, our admin team walks you through next steps. Third, our BCBA completes an ABA skills assessment and writes an individualized treatment plan. Fourth, one-on-one sessions begin with an RBT under BCBA supervision, with progress shared with you regularly.
Link to this answerWhat is an ABA skills assessment?
It is not a diagnostic evaluation. For children who already have an autism diagnosis, our BCBA assesses where your child is now across areas such as communication, social skills, adaptive and daily living skills, challenging behaviors and their functions, and academic readiness. The results shape a measurable, individualized treatment plan that is reviewed and updated as your child progresses.

3 questionsWhat insurance does Licini Inc. accept?
We work with six plans: BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Tricare (through the Autism Care Demonstration), Aetna, United Healthcare and Optum. Coverage and authorization are determined by your insurance plan, not by Licini Inc.
Link to this answerHow do I check whether my plan covers ABA?
Contact your insurance provider first to confirm your ABA benefits, then call us at 904-637-1400 with any questions. We can help verify benefits before a first appointment.
Link to this answerDoes insurance affect who delivers my child's sessions?
It can. Most plans expect one-on-one sessions to be delivered by an RBT with BCBA supervision. Tricare and Aetna may allow direct BCBA sessions in some cases, while United Healthcare requires one-on-one sessions to be RBT-delivered. Your authorization determines the details.

6 questionsWhat services does Licini Inc. offer?
Our four core ABA services are an ABA skills assessment with treatment planning, one-on-one ABA sessions, social skills groups and parent training. They are designed to work together as one program. See all services.
Link to this answerWhat is the difference between a BCBA and an RBT?
A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) holds a master's degree, has completed supervised fieldwork and passed the BACB certification exam. The BCBA designs and oversees your child's treatment plan. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) completes a 40-hour BACB training program, is certified with the BACB and delivers one-on-one sessions under BCBA supervision.
Link to this answerWhat happens during a session?
Sessions are structured to be engaging and reinforcing, not punishing. RBTs work within your child's interests and motivation, collect data on every target at every session, and the BCBA reviews that data and adjusts the plan continuously.
Link to this answerDo you offer parent training?
Yes. Parent training helps caregivers use the same ABA strategies the therapist uses, so progress continues at home. It is led by a BCBA.
Link to this answerWhat communication methods do you use?
We support Vocal Functional Communication Training (FCT), PECS, Proloquo2Go AAC and American Sign Language (ASL), so every child has a way to communicate regardless of verbal ability. Learn more about communication methods.
Link to this answerDo you provide OT, PT or speech therapy?
No. Licini Inc. does not provide occupational, physical or speech therapy. North Florida Therapy Associates, a separate and independent business nearby at 784 Blanding Blvd, Ste. 108, Orange Park, is a provider we have a working relationship with. This is not a referral or recommendation, and families are free to choose any provider and should confirm coverage with their insurance.
